OnLive, as you may have heard, is a video game subscription service that allows users to stream a game with their input on a capable machine if they don’t own a machine capable of gaming. I’m a big PC gamer so this really peaked my interest. But this leaves lots of questions.
As of writing this the website www.OnLive.com is having its servers hammered (wonder how the service will hold up) so I uploaded the trailer they had on the site.

Read on to hear my thoughts on the service.
First of all this won’t kill PCs or Game Consoles. I feel this is just another option for those who feel alienated by PC gaming. It pulls down the entry level for anyone to get into PC gaming. This is what the people on the business side have been wishing to have for years. Eliminating piracy and maximizing profit margins. I’m sure this, along with other digital distribution markets, will change the future of gaming.
Pros:
- *Makes PC gaming more accessable.
*Supports the couch gamer. (Controller and TV connectivity)
*No installs.
*Play anywhere.
Cons:
- *Monthly subscriptions.
*Lag.
*Small game library.
*Maximum resolution of 720p.
